MINDF💥CK #001: “I HAVE TO EARN LOVE”

“I Have to Earn Love”… Because somewhere along the way, your worth became a transaction.

Love was never supposed to be this complicated. But if you're reading this, chances are you don’t trust love… not really. You want to. You crave it. But deep down, some part of you still believes that love is something you have to work for. Something you have to deserve. And unless you’re doing something: fixing, performing, over-functioning, or holding it all together, you feel like you’re failing.

This didn’t just start with your last relationship… This didn’t just start in your adult life… This belief was coded into your system long before you even knew what love meant - or didn’t mean.

Maybe you were the helper. The “easy” one. The golden child. Or maybe you were the parentified one… the emotional support animal in your family’s circus. Maybe love was only offered when you were quiet, good, useful, small. Or maybe it was withheld altogether, and you just kept trying harder, thinking next time I’ll be good enough to be chosen.

That’s not love. That’s survival instincts masquerading as devotion.

The Lie You Were Sold…

You were taught to earn what was supposed to be yours by default. You became an expert at making yourself lovable. You polished. You practiced. You perfected. You performed. You got better at reading the energy of room than reading the energy in your own body. And now, here you are (decades later) still trying to be chosen.

Not that I’m a betting girl - but if I was - I would put money on the fact that you date people who require fixing. You give so much love and energy it hurts. You get so lost in your own identity and happiness that you don’t even recognize yourself in the mirror. You attract emotionally unavailable people because some part of you is still trying to finally “win” the love you were once denied.

So let me be super clear: The original heartbreak wasn’t because someone didn’t love you; the heartbreak was that you believed it was your fault.

Let’s Talk Roots…

You didn’t come out of the womb needing to deserve anything. That was learned. Whether it was from your mom’s anxiety, martyrdom, or silence; or maybe from your dad’s emotional or physical distance, control, or praise-once-you-perform pattern. The strongest of our conditioning comes from our immediate “home base” environment and is most influential up until the age of 7. But we also have to factor in the “real world”… The church that told you love came through suffering, the culture that rewarded people-pleasers and punished softness, the school system that dimmed your light on purpose to indoctrinate you to be a good little worker in training… the conditioning is everywhere.

But you adapted… because you’re a survivor. But what you had to do to get love returned back to you back then… is not required anymore.

How It Shows Up Now…

This “belief” bleeds into everything:

  • You apologize for needing anything.

  • You shrink when someone loves you freely and without conditions.

  • You feel safer when you’re fixing, holding space, or over-delivering/performing to make others happy and “keep the peace”.

  • You panic in stillness because it feels like you're not “doing enough” to keep people close. Relaxation isn’t something you’re good at.

But here’s the bottom line when looking at how that beliefs shows up: Love becomes labor. Rest becomes guilt. Receiving becomes terrifying. Even your spirituality gets warped by this by thinking you have to “heal more” to be worthy of happiness. (Another trap for another day.)

The MINDF@CK…

You don’t have to earn love. You never did. You were just taught to survive by performing for what should’ve been given freely. The people who couldn’t love you back then or even now? They were/are operating from their own wounds. Their inability to offer you love was never proof that you were unworthy of it. It was proof they didn’t know how to give it.

The wound isn’t your fault. But the healing? That’s on you now.

Chart It: Astrology Clues to This Wound…

This pattern shows up in the birth chart loud and clear. Look at:

  • Chiron in the 4th or 7th house → wounding in childhood home or in partnerships

  • Venus square Saturn → love feels like pressure, duty, or punishment

  • Moon in Capricorn or Virgo → emotional needs were silenced or shamed

  • Pluto in 1st/7th → love = power struggle, emotional fusion, obsession

Want deeper clues?

  • What’s in your 4th house (emotional foundation)?

  • What’s in your 7th house (relationships + mirrors)?

  • Where’s Chiron, Venus, and your Moon?

  • What sign rules your Libra house? That’s where you try to mirror your value back through others.

Where It Lives In the Body…

This programming doesn’t just sit in your head… it lives in every cell of your being and it imprints in your energy field:

  • Heart chakra → guarded, tight, or overly cracked open

  • Solar plexus → control, perfectionism, self-worth tied to achievement

  • Likely Ascension symptoms: chest tightness, shoulder tension, random sobbing during vulnerability, digestive issues around intimacy

Your body keeps rejecting the lie. That’s why it hurts when someone actually loves you. It doesn’t match your survival script.

Flip The Script…

We have to rewrite the program. Every time you catch yourself (or that programming) you need to IMMEDIATELY say:

“I am loveable. I am worthy and deserving of love… Without performing… Without shrinking… Without fixing anyone.”

You don’t have to hustle for your own heart. You are already worthy. Especially when you are still. Especially when you are soft. Especially when you are seen.

Journal Prompts…

  1. What’s the earliest memory you have of needing to do something to feel loved or safe?

  2. How do you test or sabotage love now that it’s available to you?

  3. What part of you do you still withhold in fear it’ll make you unlovable?
